\"ImpactThe Digital Revolution refers to the sweeping changes brought about by digital computing and communication technology with the adoption and proliferation of digital computers in during the latter half of the 20th century and mobile computing devices in 21st<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

Digital\u00a0 transformation,\u00a0 with\u00a0 its\u00a0 many\u00a0 associated\u00a0 technologies,\u00a0 is\u00a0 arguably\u00a0 the\u00a0 most\u00a0 pervasive\u00a0 and\u00a0 rapid\u00a0 transformation\u00a0 that\u00a0 human\u00a0 society\u00a0 has\u00a0 seen. Nearly\u00a0\u00a0 every\u00a0\u00a0 aspect\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 human\u00a0\u00a0 society,\u00a0\u00a0 industry,\u00a0\u00a0 organization,\u00a0 economy\u00a0 and\u00a0 politics\u00a0 has\u00a0 been\u00a0 or\u00a0 is\u00a0 being\u00a0 transformed\u00a0 by\u00a0 it. The\u00a0\u00a0 effects\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 digitization \u00a0 are\u00a0\u00a0 felt\u00a0\u00a0 at\u00a0\u00a0 all\u00a0\u00a0 levels,\u00a0\u00a0 from\u00a0\u00a0 individuals, communities, societies to nation states. Governments, industry and civil society are all seeking to understand the impacts of this transformation.<\/p>\n

Different ways the Digital Revolution has impacted Human well-being include, but not limited to are:<\/p>\n

Human Development<\/h4>\n

Digital technologies likely affect aspects of human activity and behaviour that have been shown to be fundamental to human development, such as the way children are parented or the way they learn.<\/p>\n

Mental Health<\/h4>\n

Most developed countries are facing a\u00a0 growing\u00a0 mental\u00a0 health\u00a0 burden\u00a0 reaching\u00a0 crisis\u00a0 proportions and emerging disproportionately in young people. It may be due in part to significant demographic changes and the changing social context in which we live,\u00a0 where\u00a0 expectations\u00a0 may\u00a0 not\u00a0 meet\u00a0 reality;\u00a0 the\u00a0 pace\u00a0 of\u00a0 life\u00a0 has\u00a0 increased\u00a0 Many of these issues seem to be directly or indirectly related to the impacts of digitalisation on individuals, the economy and society.<\/p>\n

Societal Changes<\/h4>\n

Whereas the digital drivers of mental illness tend to operate at an individual level, there is equal concern about the impacts of the transformation on various collective groupings that can\u00a0 form\u00a0 within\u00a0 societies\u00a0 and\u00a0 affect\u00a0 social\u00a0 \u00a0 Social\u00a0 media\u00a0 has\u00a0 helped\u00a0 new\u00a0 groups\u00a0 and\u00a0 communities\u00a0 of\u00a0 interest\u00a0 to\u00a0 form\u00a0 and\u00a0 grow,\u00a0 but\u00a0 it\u00a0 has\u00a0 also\u00a0 enabled\u00a0 more\u00a0 polarised and entrenched views to take root, and among the groups that form are anti-social ones that take advantage of the dark web to build new collectives based on violent, anti-social,\u00a0 morally\u00a0 objectionable\u00a0 or\u00a0 illegal\u00a0 behaviours.<\/p>\n

Security<\/h4>\n

Whether for\u00a0 individuals\u00a0 or\u00a0 groups,\u00a0 one\u00a0 emergent\u00a0 issue\u00a0 of\u00a0 personal\u00a0 and\u00a0 public\u00a0 security\u00a0 relates to the increasing potential for real and immediate impacts from various forms of virtual,\u00a0 online\u00a0 and\u00a0 remote\u00a0 surveillance.\u00a0 For\u00a0 instance,\u00a0 on\u00a0 one\u00a0 hand\u00a0 the concept of surveillance of public spaces may make people feel safer, but in practice is it also limiting personal freedom? Cyberbullying, and misuse of social media increasingly can polarize and fragment societies and threaten our sense of well being, especially if they spill over into real-world actions. Cyber Security has become significant aspect of security at all – national, organizational and individual level.\u00a0 Mobile Apps are the latest threat to security at individual level<\/a><\/p>\n

Governance<\/h4>\n

The concept of governance includes democratic processes (e.g. public representation, electoral integrity, trusted public institutions, independent and reliable 4th estate) as well as fair and just delivery of government core services. While these two meanings of\u00a0 governance\u00a0 must\u00a0 be\u00a0 distinguished,\u00a0 they\u00a0 nonetheless\u00a0 both\u00a0 affect\u00a0 well being\u00a0 and are themselves affected by the impact of digital technologies. Cyber Security has become part of National Security. Cyber Security and its Present Status in India<\/a><\/p>\n

While there have been huge benefits to society from the digital revolution, especially in terms of the accessibility of information, there are a number of concerns. Expanded powers of communication and information sharing, increased capabilities for existing technologies, and the advent of new technology brought with it many potential opportunities for exploitation.<\/p>\n
