About Central Armed Police (Assistant Commandant) Exam
The UPSC Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) test is a competitive examination held by the Union Public Service Commission to select candidates for various armed forces around the country. Candidates who pass this test are assigned to the armed forces as Assistant Commandants (AC) like, the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
The UPSC CAPF exam consists of three main stages: the Written examination, the Medical test, and PET.
UPSC CAPF(AC) Exam Eligibility 2024
Eligibility criteria laid down by Union Public Service Commission for CAPF(AC) Exam includes age, education and physical criteria. All aspirants should ensure they fulfil the CAPF(AC) Eligibility Criteria 2024 before submitting the application form.
Only an unmarried citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan can apply for CDS Exam.
Age Limit for CAPF(AC) Exam
According to UPSC, the candidate appearing for CAPF(AC) exam should must be between the age of 20 to 25 years.
Education Qualification for CAPF(AC) Exam
The candidates appearing for CAPF(AC) exam must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a government-recognized university or an institute. Candidates with technical or professional degrees from recognized institutions are also eligible.
CAPF(AC) Exam Syllabus & Pattern
The UPSC CAPF Syllabus consists of General Ability and Intelligence, General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension. The written exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 – General Ability and Intelligence, Paper 2 – General Studies, Essay and Comprehension
The syllabus for CAPF AC Paper 1 is divided into six subjects – General Mental Ability, General Science, Current Events of National International Importance, Indian Polity, Economy, Indian History, Indian World Geography.
Candidates who pass the CAPF AC written exam and PET are qualified to take the interview and personality test.
