About National Defence Academy
National Defence Academy (NDA) is a tri-service military academy of Indian Armed Forces where Army, Air Force and Navy cadets are trained. Graduates from NDA then move on to their respective service academy for post commission training.
NDA was establised in 1949 and is located in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra.
All the cadets joining NDA are trained in the Academy for three years culminating in graduation with Bachelor’s of Arts or Bachelor’s of Science. Apart from academic training they are also trained in outdoor skills, like Drill, PT and games
UPSC NDA Exam Eligibility 2024
Eligibility criteria laid down by Union Public Service Commission for NDA Exam includes age, education and physical criteria. All aspirants should ensure they fulfil the NDA Eligibility Criteria 2024 before submitting the application form.
Only a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal can apply for NDA Exam.
Age Limit for NDA Exam
According to UPSC, candidate appearing for the NDA-1 2024 should be between between 16.5 years and 19.5 years for all the categories. Only unmarried male/female aspirants born not earlier than 02nd July 2005 and not later than 1st July 2008 are eligible for the post.
Education Qualification for NDA Exam
The NDA 2024 educational qualification varies as per the posts. For the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy 12th Class pass or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Physical Standard for NDA Exam 2024
Candidates should fulfil all the physical standard requirements specified in the NDA 2024 notification. Check the Official NDA 2024 notification.
NDA Exam Syllabus & Pattern
The Union Public Service Commission has released NDA Syllabus 2024 PDF through the official notification. The UPSC NDA Syllabus 2024 for the written exam is divided into two papers, i.e. Mathematics and General Ability Test. The NDA General Ability Test syllabus is divided into two sub-parts, i.e. English and General Knowledge.The NDA 2024 syllabus includes objective-type questions only. Candidates should check the UPSC NDA Syllabus and Exam Pattern before commencing the preparation.
